Hello All, The steering lock on my Tohatsu 6 sail pro is useless. Has anybody seen or know of a mod to lock it in the straighe ahead position? Tohatsu are no help. They say the 6 is primerily designed for dinghys and total locking would be unsafe and that there should always be a hand on the tiller...

i have recently brought a sail pro for my farr 6000 and have found it very good,vibration is very minable ,and gets boat up to hull speed at half throtle,great on fuel and the charging system works well .i paid $1850

i have a farr 6000 and use to have a honda 9.8 4 stroke which worked well,but was very heavy and getting tired. i looked into all brands and decided on a tohatsu 6hp. 4 stroke sail pro,which is design for yachts, it has extra long shaft special pushing prop.and plug for battery charging it works fan...

was advised to go with the bigger motor as do a lot of motoring,have old 9hp.honda at moment,does the 6hp.get you up to hull speed.also not much price variation between the two

hi matt,i park at the power boat boat ramp for 2 nights at a time and have had no problems,but i do have locks on trailer ect.
