Facebook

ALL members please be aware that promoting Facebook on our site is considered Member Farming which is when YOU encourage members to frequent other sites.

This IS NOT ALLOWED and will see the offender banned.

This site is run on a tight budget, for the benefit of fellow sailors, so hopefully you can see how damaging some of these activities can be.

Thanks

Dilon we are good friends with all of our brother clubs and I would think they share the same view as us.

Quite a few members here belong to the various clubs.

I belong to Melbourne Trailables and the Sonata Yacht Association.

Wanton belongs to Bayside Trailables and possibly others.

There are suitable topic areas for promoting cruises and club events here without diverting members to f book.

I am confused. There seems to be a Trailer Sailer Place facebook group now. Any connection?

I could not find it either.

But to my knowledge we have not registered the site name, and not even sure it can be registered, and if it could what would be the cost?

You can start a group with any name just about on Facebook, there is a question that asks if you have the right to use the name but no real check.

When I started the WMYC Facebook page I just had to click a tick box to say It was an official page of WMYC

I presume some big company trademark names are protected somewhat such a Coca Cola, BUT you would probably get away with a Coca Cola Lovers Facebook page
