Fuel tank locker

Post by zebedee » Apr 6th, '18, 23:08

Some trailer sailers (the Ultimate 18 comes to mind) have a fuel locker recessed into one of the vertical faces of the cockpit; basically just a fibreglass box with a lip which is fastened in place in a rectangular cutout through the cockpit wall to use the space under the cockpit seats close to the transom. A portable fuel tank fits into the locker to get it out from underfoot while still outside the cabin space.

Does anyone know of a supplier for these? What other boats have them?

No, and I did look. Hard. large ww versions wouldn't take the 12l container.
The Princess has a big flaw in this.

Be an easy mold to make I suppose.

If the ultimate molds are available, they might include the fuel locker.

Some Sonata 6 have them. Mine has . Actually it’s the only cockpit locker.

I apologise if I am stating the obvious, but you have checked caravan/motorhome/campervan places, right ?

No, it hadn't occurred to me that a motorhome might have an outboard fuel tank recess. On the other hand, gas bottle and fire extinguisher recesses are basically similar.
