Looking at some lake Samsonvale sailing for the next couple of days. If anyone wants to bring their boat, kayak, windsurfer and visit the dam let me know and I'll meet you at the gate.

Hi All

Just thought I'd post this here as it is a fun trip

we have a group of careels heading up the pumice stone passage from bribie up to caloundra
overnighting at the power boat club and back to bribie the next day

anyone is welcome to tag along ... you don't have to have a careel ... but it helps 8)

details here http://www.careel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4429

cheers
byrds

Wanting to make it but not sure that I can this year, it's a great fun run and the careel association are very welcoming to all boat types.

Any TSPers heading to South Straddie this weekend?

Moonspinner will be heading down to the Haven for a relaxing couple of days.

Come and say hi if you see us in your travels.

4 or 5 of us will be stopping there on Thursday night on our way to Southport Yacht Club for the Surf 2 City.
Probably arriving late on Thursday arvo and leaving again at Sparrowfart on Friday.

Haven Closed -
Possible Message from the Mgmt at Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club.

Due to our inability to make sensible timely decisions and despite numerous requests to do basic maintenance, we decided to ignore our member wishes and screw with the one weekend where some members finally have the time to use this facility.

So for the Australia Day long weekend, we are closing the facility.

- I may have edited the announcement slightly - but the overall message rings true.

Wonder how much we'll get in member fee refunds?
Not holding my breath.

We spent the night there on Thursday night (Australia Day) anyway. There are toilets and showers at Tippler's campground next door.

Too easy, thought I'd try to revive the thread. Not sure how much I'll be able to get out over the next month due to the lady's work schedule and having to move. Ahh life, how you get in the way of fun.

I trust you're back from Vietnam then?

Hi Tezza. I can see why you don't do weekends. We launched at Paradise Point on Sat 2nd, took the family over to Tipplers Passage. More yachts there than we have seen before, but still enough jet-skis and big cruisers racing in those narrow channels to just about spoil a nice day.

Have you tried clearing your barnicles yet ?

Hi Peter,
I learnt pretty quick that south of cabbage tree point on weekends is pretty busy ( shockers) so avoid.
Currently I am going east from Calypso Bay turning south at the cardinal down past Couran Cove aways and back. Still mucking about with the new sails and new outboard.
I scoped out somewhere to beach but that’s about it. Actually I can’t see or feel any hanging over the side and am wondering if the diver scraped them off.
You must be about ready to head north .
Terry
