That looks positively Volcanic. It needs a GeoffR to take it on.

Sonata 6 - re-advertised for same price $13,500 - Seaforth QLD

A good one normally sells for around $8K to $9K. This one has out of focus photos so hard to tell if it is worth an extra $5K.

I reckon that Farr B30 was advertised about a year ago, maybe more, don't know what price it was then. It is a sad and sorry sight, "Some sails" sounds ordinary, even the trailer is not much chop because it lacks a ladder roller system essential for a TS that size. Zeb it would have to be someone like geoffr to bring it back but it is not a classic like the Seaways, in reality I think it is playground equipment.

South Coast 25 - $16,000 neg. - Goomboorian QLD

Doesn't appear to have the required breakaway braking set-up. Diesel motor plus a well for an OB. Would weigh over 3 tonnes with trailer.

Potentially a very comfy mast-up storage yacht.

Re the farr B30 it was advertised a while ago.

I have enough trouble keeping a good boat maintained without going looking for trouble.

Why is it that boat sellers put on their rose coloured glasses when pricing their boat. It really pis.... me off especially when they will not accept the fact they are way overpriced.
Back in Sept I had a choice in Brisbane of two Sonata 6 anda Cole 19.
This one for over$11,000 with unregistered trailerthe one I bought for $7,000 with a registered trailer and the Cole for just under $11,000.
This was the best of the three but not $4000 better. I would have paid $8/8500.
The Cole is down to just over 8.
There are other boats that I looked at still on the market but overpriced and now priced way under what I would have paid back in Aug./Sept. Very tempted to make an offer on one that’s in NSW but got nowhere to put it. Will have to stop looking at this .

Tezza, there are other possibilities apart from the rose coloured glasses.

One is that the partner wants the boat gone so it is advertised at a price ensuring it won't go but "at least they are trying to sell it".

Then there is the view of those not watching the market, that you should ask what the boat cost plus any upgrades/repairs.

Finally there may be just the hope to catch a sucker who particularly wants your boat even if it is over-priced.

Also the definition of "new" gets a real battering, especially with outboards and trailers. It has come to mean "not used much" or "recently painted".

What amazes me is the terrible standard of advertising. The words are often gibberish, the boats are often filthy and the images are often out of focus or sideways.

It is quite refreshing now and then to read a well thought out, realistic, honest ad.

I forgot the deceased estate ones which the departed elder always told the kids were worth a fortune and the kids don't know any better until they get no responses to their ads.

But on the other hand.......as a wise man once said "My greatest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell my boat for what I have told her it has cost me....."
