Re: Jarcat 6 comes to stay.

Maybe an over the centre lock? Push the arms straight then a little bit further - the hatch lowers a bit but then the arms are not allowed to rotate any further. The hatch weight then locks the position? A small bracket mounted on one of the arms will do this.

Checkout the AMSA web site.

Re: replace 27mhz radio?

If considering a VHF - almost all will have (i think) a small red button marked DSC. This is digital selective calling. If the VHF is connected via NMEA to your chart plotter, then this DSC message that will be sent will contain the current GPS coordinates of the Plotter aka your boat. This simplifi...

Looking at the pics l think my pin is closer to the centreline. Works like a charm. As l said 28 autotacks layer who's counting? Yeh I think I got the measurement wrong on the initial install. Probably cheaper to get a new socket and fit it than the extension but what is done is done. Look on the b...

Re: Raymarine st1000

I think moving the mounting point 50mm closer to the tiller is warranted. But the hatch opening / closing would need to be checked as would the level of thickness of the deck where the pin mounts. I put an inspection hatch in the locker to allow access to add reinforcing - in the end did not need an...

Re: Raymarine st1000

My pin is located behind the stbd locker as follows: https://live.staticflickr.com/1885/29900107227_a384ed4a51_z.jpg The advantage of this location. 1. The locker can be opened when the ST2000 is fitted 2. The locker moulding overlaps the deck moulding at this location. The thickness there is enough...
